Condition

Scattered chips, nicks, and abrasions in places. As visible in the catalogue illustrations, an open crack, repaired in situ with metal staples, presumably to prolong the use of the mask. Below this a glued repair to the lip/chin. Old insect damage to the inside of the mask, resulting in a loss to the rear of the coiffure. A glued and nailed repair to the back of the head. Very fine patina, with layered, encrusted reddish ochre and white kaolin pigments. Has custom stand.
