Description

  • Sapphire, diamond, platinum
Set with an octagonal-shaped sapphire weighing 8.01 carats, flanked by two half-moon-shaped diamonds, mounted in platinum. Ring size: 5¾

Condition

Colour and Clarity: According to the Gübelin report, the sapphire is natural, of Kashmir origin, with no indications of heating. Please refer to the report for details. In our opinion, the sapphire is of saturated velvety blue colour, eye clean and lively. Under the 10x loupe inspecton, there is one minor feather inclusions, one fair hairline scratch on the crown, and a few minor pits and abrasions on the girdle, but all are not noticeable to the naked eyes. Diamonds together weighing approximately 0.40 carat, about G to H colour, SI clarity. Condition: Platinum ring mount shows normal wear, otherwise in very good condition.

Catalogue Note

Accompanied by Gübelin and SSEF reports numbered 15121036 and 84229, dated 7 January 2016 and 16 February 2015 respectively, stating that the 8.01 carat sapphire is natural, of Kashmir origin, with no indications of heating. SSEF also states that the colour of this sapphire may also be called 'royal blue' on SSEF reference standard. SSEF further stating that 'It exhibits an important size and weight of 8.01 ct combined with an attractive saturated blue colour and very fine purity....A natural sapphire from Kashmir of this size and quality is very rare and exceptional.'
