AUCTION RESULTS
The Hong Kong sale of Magnificent Jewels and Jadeite achieved HK$ 572 million / US$ 73.3 million / CHF 70.7 million. The De Beers Millennium Jewel 4, a 10.10-carat oval-shaped fancy vivid blue diamond, was sold for HK$ 248.28 Million / US$ 31.8 Million / CHF 30.7 Million (US$3,151,561 per Carat), setting the highest price ever paid for a jewel at auction in Asia.
AUCTION DETAILS
Heading this sale is the one-and-only De Beers Millennium Jewel 4, a superb oval internally flawless fancy vivid blue diamond weighing 10.10 carats, which is the largest oval fancy vivid blue diamond ever to appear at auction. Offered alongside are three extremely rare coloured diamonds, including a 4.08 carat fancy vivid orange diamond, a 4.90 carat fancy intense green diamond, and a 10.30 carat fancy vivid yellow diamond. Also highlighted are impressive gemstones of exceptional quality, an emerald and diamond brooch formerly in the property of Queen Amelia of Portugal, and a tasteful selection of signed masterpieces with distinctive period designs.
