The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the overall tonality is slightly brighter in the original. The catalogue illustration fails to fully convey the richly textured surface towards the right half of the composition.
Condition:
This work is in very good condition. The canvas undulates very slightly. Extremely close inspection reveals a few faint spots of wear intermittently along the edges. Further extremely close inspection reveals a very small number of scattered hairline cracks and unobtrusive spot of loss in isolated places, as well as some superficial surface dust which adhere to some of the impasto. No restoration is apparent when examined under ultraviolet light.
