Condition
Colour:
The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the overall tonality is richer and contains more bright green tones towards the corners in the original.
Condition:
This work is in very good condition. Visible only when examined out of the frame, there is evidence of frame rubbing running parallel to the edges with a few associated tiny and unobtrusive specks of loss scattered in isolated places to the extreme outer edges. Visible only when examined closely in raking light, there are a few very faint abrasions, notably one towards the centre of the upper left quadrant. Extremely close inspection reveals a few pinprick-sized media accretions in places, notably towards the centre of the right edge. There are two small spots of lighter pigment towards the centre of the left edge, which don't appear to be retouching and therefore are likely to be original. No restoration is apparent when examined under ultraviolet light.
