Colour:
The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate although the overall tonality is slightly brighter in the original. The catalogue illustration also fails to fully convey the metallic nature of the lead in the original.
Condition:
This work is in very good condition. Very close inspection reveals some thin, shallow and unobtrusive scratches and oxidisation spots in places which are in keeping with the artist's choice of medium. All other scratches and surface irregularities, notably a long abrasion towards the upper right quadrant, are likely to be in keeping with the artist's working process and therefore original. No restoration is apparent when examined under ultraviolet light.
