Condition

Sheet 1: The paper is slightly wavy. There are pin-holes by the lower corners. There are two tiny tears, one by the center of the upper edge and one along the right upper edge. There are few scattered shallow rubbing traces on the graphite powder inherent to the choice of media. There is a light trace of an old fold towards the center of the sheet of paper visible under racking light. Sheet 2: The paper is slightly wavy. There are two tiny tears along the central and lower part of the left edge and one along the right upper edge. There is a light trace of an old fold towards the center of the sheet of paper visible under racking light. Sheet 3: The paper is slightly wavy. There are three pin-pointed traces of biological dirt towards the center of the right edge. There is a light trace of an old fold towards the center of the sheet of paper visible under racking light.

Il cimento avveniva in uno spazio davvero elementare, al riparo dai domini rarefatti dell'assoluto; era lo stesso spazio dei quaderni a quadretti, dei ricordi scolastici, dei numeri in colonna, dei simboli delle quattro operazioni, dei triangoli e dei poligoni, delle aree e dei perimetri e di tutte quelle cose che da bambini riempivano le nostre ore di aritmetica e geometria. Era uno spazio che apparteneva a tutti, il simbolo di una scienza alla portata di tutti. Pur nella sua forma severa e rigorosa, il foglio a quadretti parla una lingua quotidiana e immediata, proprio come immediato e' l'automatismo del ricalco...

The ordeal happened in a very elementary space, repaired from the rarefied absolute: it was the same space as the little squared school books, of the numbers you had to put in columns, of the symbols of the four operations, of the triangles and poligones, of the areas and perimeters and of all those things that filled our hours of arithmetic and geometry.
