The present lot is an experimental work by Dino Martens exploring the stylistic combination of three important series: the "Fasce Bianco Nero" (1954), the "Oriente" (1952-1961), and the "Pulegoso" series (1954).
Overall condition very good with no damage or restoration detected. The green cane within the pin wheel appears slightly darker in the photograph than how it appears in reality. The pinwheel has two small dark impurity specks to the surface of the canes as a result of the making. There are also 3 vertical elongated air bubbles within the canes to one side, each approximately 0.25 inches long, however in our opinion these do not adversely affect the overall appearance of the vase and are as a result of the manufacturing process. In response to your inquiry, we are pleased to provide you with a general report of the condition of the property described above. Since we are not professional conservators or restorers, we urge you to consult with a restorer or conservator of your choice who will be better able to provide a detailed, professional report. Prospective buyers should inspect each lot to satisfy themselves as to condition and must understand that any statement made by Sotheby's is merely a subjective qualified opinion. NOTWITHSTANDING THIS REPORT OR ANY DISCUSSIONS CONCERNING CONDITION OF A LOT, ALL LOTS ARE OFFERED AND SOLD "AS IS" IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CONDITIONS OF SALE PRINTED IN THE CATALOGUE.
