Condition

Overall very good condition with no damage or restoration detected. There are occasional very minor surface abrasions to the exterior of the vase, particularly toward the base, commensurate with age and use. There are several occasional small air bubbles and very minor flecks of impurities in the glass as a result of the manufacturing process. There is a good clear circular acid-stamp to the underside of the polished pontil.
In response to your inquiry, we are pleased to provide you with a general report of the condition of the property described above. Since we are not professional conservators or restorers, we urge you to consult with a restorer or conservator of your choice who will be better able to provide a detailed, professional report. Prospective buyers should inspect each lot to satisfy themselves as to condition and must understand that any statement made by Sotheby's is merely a subjective qualified opinion.

Catalogue Note

The pezzatti series with irregular chequered patterns of tesserae was produced with differing arrangements of coloured glass tesserae: Paris, Stockholm and Istanbul.  The present lot is probably a custom ordered variant of the series.
