Condition

Overall very good condition with no damage or restoration detected. There are occasional small open air bubbles to the surfaces of some of the individual segments of corn, however these are in the making and in our opinion do not adversely affect the overall attractive appearance of the work. Some of the more pronounced open air bubbles are visible to the lower row of corn segments in the catalogue photograph. Please note that the color of the catalogue/online photograph is slightly under-saturated. In reality the red and green is slightly richer in tone, and in our opinion more attractive. In addition to this some of the applied gold powders are not visible in the catalogue/online photograph. The underside of the work is applied with leaves of undulating strips of green tinted glass applied with gold powders. Further images of the work may be provided on request.
In response to your inquiry, we are pleased to provide you with a general report of the condition of the property described above. Since we are not professional conservators or restorers, we urge you to consult with a restorer or conservator of your choice who will be better able to provide a detailed, professional report. Prospective buyers should inspect each lot to satisfy themselves as to condition and must understand that any statement made by Sotheby's is merely a subjective qualified opinion.
