Condition
Oil on canvas with an old lining. There is a patch on the reverse corresponding to the area right of the angel's proper left ear. Abrasions and losses at the edges. Stretcher bar marks. Small scattered losses including one to the left of the angel's head in the upper left quadrant; in the angel's wings; and scattered in the background along the left edge. Additional small losses in the mustache of Abraham; one in his upper torso; and one in his stomach. Small losses in Isaac's left knee; near his right hip; and in his hair near the bottom edge. Under UV light, the varnish fluoresces green. There are retouches scattered across the entire picture surface, some older, some newer. There are larger areas of inpaint in Isaac's ankles, hip bone, arm and shoulder, as well as scattered along the edges.
