Condition
Oil on canvas. The work has a relatively new lining. The picture surface is in fair condition with a thick, shiny varnish. There is a stable web of widely-spaced craquelure over the picture surface, including some areas of circular craquelure. The varnish is cloudy in areas - especially the lower left and upper right corners - and there are some scattered inpaints that have discolored and are visible to the naked eye. These spots fluoresece under UV light, including a spot of inpaint to the left of the pot rack at left; an area below the baby's feet; an upside down L below the flower vase at left; in the scarf of the woman in the window and above her head; in the legs of the chair the woman is seated on at right; and a few scattered along the right edge.
