Condition

Glue relining is firm and stable. the surface has been very slightly pressed in the relining, but overall the condition is very good. there is nice preservation of the paint surface with very good detail and coloration in birds, animals and landscape. there are some scattered discolored old retouches on spaniel's forelegs and torso. examination under UV light reveals retouches on dog as mentioned; there is another area on white hen's neck; some reinforcement of the carved design on the stone plinth; a few retouches to dark feathers of rooster at center; and retouching over a very small scratch in background lower right. In a gilt wood frame.
