  • 17 1/8 by 12 5/8 in.; 43.5 by 32 cm.

Provenance

In the family of the present owner since the 18th Century.

Condition

Oil on rough canvas. The picture surface has dust and dirt and a yellowed varnish. A web of craquelure over the entire picture surface. The image appears to have been extended along the right edge, as there is a very smooth line of pigment extending the height of the edge. There is a small, white label with the number "1" adhered to the work in the lower right corner, visible in photos. Under UV light, there are fine lines of inpainting to address the craqulelure over a thick, green fluorescing varnish.
