Oil on canvas. Relined with a coarsely woven canvas. The edge of the original canvas is visible at the extreme upper edge; there are also a few minor losses along the upper edge. The picture surface is clean and fresh. There are discolored dots of retouching scattered across the picture surface; these fluoresce under UV light. There are additional dots and dashes of inpainting across the letters, in the flowers and older inpaint at the edges.
