Provenance

Gifted by the mother-in-law of the present owner.

Condition

Slightly convex. Surface dirt. The majority of the left side of the Virgin's robe has been rubbed. A stable web of craquelure and small panel splits, consistent with the age of the work. Under UV light, there is fluorescence in the area around Christ in the cross; scattered along the edges of the frame; and throughout the area behind the Virgin and child.
