The complete portfolio, comprising 42 lithographs printed in colours, with text by Longus, 1961, signed in black ink on the justification, numbered 112, from the total edition of 270, published by Téraide, Paris, loose (as issued), on Arches wove paper, contained in the original paper-covered boards and slipcase
Condition
The full sheets, printed to the edges, in good condition, the verso and text sheets with occasional pale discoloration or offsetting. The boards with some minor surface soiling. The slipcase with overall wear and areas of staining, the seams starting to separate at two edges but still intact. The following plates have additional imperfections:
Chloe's Kiss (M. 316) - a paper accretion in the upper portion of the sheet recto, pale tiny foxing verso
Death of Dorcon (M. 320) - mount-staining, and scattered tiny foxing (rust flecks?) in the upper portion of the sheet verso
Captain Bryaxis's Dream (M. 328) - the colours slightly attenuated, the verso with mount-staining, some minor surface soiling, and remains of hinges at corners
Winter (M. 333) - the colours slightly attenuated, remains of hinges at the corners verso
