Condition

Overall the condition of the bronze is good with wear and minor dirt to the surface consistent with age including some minor nicks. There is some wear to the gilding including at both sides and haunches, the paws and the nose. The rib cage on the lion's proper left side is scratched. There is some tarnishing in the crevices around the manes. The modern wooden base has some minor wear to the edges.
