Condition

Given the age and function of the object as an architectural fitting, the condition is relatively good overall. There are various small chips and abrasions throughout, in particular to the top and to the bottom, and including to the centaur. There was probably a bottom finial now lost. Part of the surface is covered with a beige paint layer, which has worn away in areas. There are two metal mounts to the reverse.
