Rares feuillets jaunis, rousseurs pâles. Minimes restaurations aux coiffes inférieures.
Premier tirage des 2 titres et dédicace au roi gravés, 3 vignettes, 130 médailles accompagnées d'un texte descriptif, dont 3 tirées hors texte, planches hors texte dont la belle gravure montrant Le graveur en pierres fines lorsqu'il opère (t. I, p. 208) et 125 gravures de testes, toutes gravées par le comte de Caylus d'après les dessins de Bouchardon.
Reliure attribuable à Padeloup, aux armes du comte de Calenberg, chambellan de l'Empereur et grand bibliophile (Guigard 108). Il fut acquis à la vente de sa somptueuse bibliothèque en 1773 par Francis Hutchinson (ex-libris armorié au verso des titres).
