Condition

Overall in very good condition. The shade with approximately 12 cracks to the glass tiles dispersed throughout. The shade leading is beautifully executed with thin fine lines, displaying a rich russet brown and green patina. The patinated bronze surfaces of the base display an exceptionally rich and saturated russet brown and green layered patina. The patinated bronze surfaces with some occasional light surface scratches, rubbing, and with some small and minor areas of surface residue, consistent with age and gentle use. The underside of the four feet with old felt glides. All of the sockets and paddle switches appear to be original and undisturbed. The period finial with gentle surface wear and with one very shallow surface bruise. A beautiful example of the model displaying a highly artistic and naturalistic glass selection. The daffodil blossoms are thoughtfully distinguished with vigorously mottled glass, which defines the dimensionality of the petals. The reeds and background glass display a multicolored palette with select accents in turquoise blue, lavender and sienna reds. When viewed in person the glass shows greater artistic nuance than seen in the catalogue illustration, which is slightly oversaturated and too red.
