Catalogue Note
This fine portrait was painted in 1869 when Zandomeneghi was in Florence and working under the tutelage of Antonio Ciseri. The same model and elaborate hair style is featured in another painting from the same year, Paul De Kock (see: Roberto Capitani, Frederico Zandomeneghi; Catalogo Generale, p. 195, no. 17 for an illustration).
