Provenance

Acquired in Paris by the grandfather of the present owner circa 1930.

Condition

The canvas is unlined. The surface is in fair condition; it has a significant amount of craquelure that is slightly lifting and a dirty old varnish. There are very small scattered pinpoint accretions, particularly in a 1 inch diameter at the horizon in the center right of the painting and above the camel riding figures. The varnish appears slightly uneven and has darkened over time. Under UV; no apparent inpainting.
