The canvas is lined. The surface is in generally good condition; it is very thinly painted and the ground is visible throughout. Under UV; the upper right quadrant in the sky and clouds shows evidence of repaint and selectively applied varnish; the clouds may be a later addition. There are 2 vertical retouches of approximately 4 by 1 inches in the center left on the wall of the church, and one horizontal retouch of approximately 5 inches in the lower center along the edge of the water near the boats.
