Condition

The canvas is lined. The surface is somewhat thin and pressed and there is some fine craquelure throughout and slight frame abrasion to the outermost edges. A heavy varnish has been applied to the whole painting and appears to have darkened over time. Under UV; there is a very thick old varnish that appears to have been selectively cleaned. There appears to have at least two generations of retouching throughout. It is recommended that the prospective purchasers have the painting examined by a professional conservator.
