Condition

Window mounted. Overall in very good condition. There is an old crease in the paper running horizontally just above the figures of Venus and Cupid. Medium remains fresh.

Catalogue Note

Cambiaso visits the subject of Venus and Cupid numerous times in both his drawings and paintings.  There is a very similar drawing of the same subject in the Duke of Devonshire's Collection.1
