Both hinged to the left margin. These two sheets appear to have originally been joined as one larger sheet as indicated by the sketches to the versos. Study of a Mother and Child: In good condition aside from a very slight diagonal crease running from the lower left corner to the upper margin. There is some surface dirt and minor creasing in particular to the left half and an abrasion to the lower centre. Study of a Child: There is an area of grayish staining to the left half of the sheet. There are three slight creases to the left margin of the sheet and a faint diagonal crease in the upper right corner. There are some minor creases to the lower edge. The lower right corner is made up and repaired.
