Condition

The Conscript: The canvas is lined. The surface is in generally good condition aside for fine pressed craquelure and a slightly dirty, yellowish varnish. Frame abrasion is evident around all edges. There are scattered pinpoint losses, particularly around the edges. Inspection under UV reveals a thick, broadly applied varnish through which no inpainting is visible. The Return: The Canvas has been laid down on a board. The surface is in generally good condition aside for fine pressed craquelure and paint seperation. There is frame abrasion with minor losses in the upper right edge. Inspection under UV reveals no apparent inpainting.
