This painting has not been restored in many years. The old lining is releasing its hold on the paint layer and the cracking is quite visible throughout, particularly in the upper left. The painting is extremely dirty. It also has become very milky, particularly in the darkest colors of the female figure on the left. However, throughout the picture, a very healthy paint layer is evident. The previous lining has probably pressed the texture slightly, but the cleanings have mostly been quite gentle. Although there is slight abrasion in the torch held by the putti in the upper left, and possibly some other losses or old restorations that are not evident, the only real damage are two punctures in the crown of Jupiter.
