Condition

The canvas is lined. The surface is in fair condition; there are minor losses to the canvas at the lower left corner, frame abrasions, areas of scratches above center at left side, above and below center at right side and across lower half. There is craquelure and area of lifting to craquelure and lifting of the paint at edges Significant paint separation in the middle right side with associated losses. There are minor accretions and dust to surface. Inspection under UV reveals retouches in the upper left side, in the female figures' face, 1 inch to the left and 1 inch above her head in the background, upper right corner, in the male figures' beard, along the right edge, in teh lower left corner and in the child's head and arm.
