We are grateful to Andrea de Marchi for suggesting an attribution of this lot to Giovanni Marinoni (Venice 1490 – 1562 Naples) on the basis of photographs and to Matteo Mazzalupi for suggesting the sitter to be the Dominican monk, Jacopo Salomoni (Venice 1231 – 1314 Forlì).
