  • oil on panel
  • 18 3/4 by 15 in.; 47.6 by 38.1 cm.

Collection of Catalina von Pannwitz, Berlin and Amsterdam.

Condition

The panel is flat, stable, and comprised of two pieces of wood brought together by a vertical join. Two horizontal strips on the verso of the panel have been attached at an early date for support. There are retouches visible under UV along the panel join which extend about 3 cm away from the join throughout most of the join, and in one small section along the figures chest, about an inch. There are a few other scattered retouches in the legs. The painted wings are still faintly visible, though they have lost most of their original paint over time. The landscape, face, and sky are all in good state and well preserved. In a carved gilt wood frame.
