Provenance
With Agnew's, London, no. 8894 (according to a label on the reverse).
Condition
The canvas has an old, firm relining. The paint surface is secure, if somewhat flattened by the relining, and the details, although flat, are nicely preserved under a yellowed varnish.
Inspection under UV light reveals scattered retouching work and strengthening throughout and some more significant retouching in the sky, along to horizon and in the water to the left of the two standing figures.
