The support consists of a single stable panel bevelled along the top edge with additions of 1 cm added later to the other three edges. The paint surface is secure with some fine details although it is a little worn in places and with fine craquelure running throughout the skin tones. Inspection under UV light reveals some old scattered retouchings and an old restored damage of approx. 1 cm squared to the upper right of the Madonna’s breast. Offered in a structurally sound fine ornate carved wooden frame with fruit and flowers that bears some evidence of once being gilded although the gilt has now completely rubbed off.
