STRUCTURE
The canvas has been lined.
PAINT SURFACE
The painting appears to be in very good condition, with no apparent extant damage or loss of paint.
ULTRAVIOLET
Examination under ultraviolet light reveals scattered retouching in the sky, in the upper centre, and retouching to an old scratch running vertically through the lower left hand side of the canvas. There is a small amount of further minor scattered retouching overall, particularly in the lower right hand corner.
FRAME
Held in a gilded British Baroque style frame.
