Description

  • Spanish School, 18th century

Condition

The work is lighter in tonality and the colours are richer than the catalogue illustration. The canvas has an old relining and the paint surface appears to be in good overall condition with no apparent damage or loss of paint. In a raking light the uppermost and left hand stretcher bar marks are visible. Inspection under ultrviolet light reveals scattered cosmetic retouching overall, most noticeably to the aforementioned stretcher bar marks as well as to the lower edges of the canvas. Offered in a black Dutch style wooden frame.
