Catalogue Note

With a Patek Philippe Certificate of Origin.

Launched at the same time as the Ref.5970 during Basel 2004, the "Gondolo Calendario Annual" was the first complication by Patek Philippe housed in a Gondolo case and used a new annual calendar movement, Cal.324, that took the company three years to develop. Asthetically not dissimilar to the once highly unpopular and controversial Ref.5020, itself reminiscent of the 1970s with oversize proportions, the model didn't follow the company's signature understated philosophy. Discontinued in 2010 when it was replaced by the Ref.5205 annual calendar with more conventional case size and design, the 5135 has quickly gained in both cult and collectable status.
