- A SILVER GILT, ENAMEL AND SPLIT PEARLS OPEN-FACED CENTRE SECONDS WATCH MADE FOR THE CHINESE MARKET CIRCA 1860
- silver gilt and enamel
- diameter 39 mm
• finely engraved and chased floral decorated gilt-finished movement, lever escapement • hinged glazed cuvette • white enamel dial, Roman numerals, outer minute track, centre seconds • circular case, split pearl-set bezels and bow, milled band, case back with painted polychrome enamel depicting a shepherdess in a landscape on a blue background
Condition
The movement is running at the time of cataloguing, however it might benefit from a service soon. Crack to the glazed cuvette and small chips around the winding hole. Dial in good condition but would benefit from a clean. Some tarnishing to the case. Polychrome enamel to the case back with light scuffs but in good condition.
