Description

Condition

The box is in overall very good condition. The colour of the jade is of a slightly more yellowish tone (like mutton fat) than the catalogue illustration suggests. The hinge is beatifully incised and gilt on the interior and exterior parts. The quality and colour of the jade and the subject of the twin ducks is reminiscent of jade carvings of the Song/Jin and Yuan dynasties.
