de forme circulaire, le plateau très délicatement sculpté d'un caractère shou central dans un médaillon, encerclé de têtes de ruyi, guirlande de chauves-souris et quatre autres médaillons abritant des caractères archaïsants 'wan shou ruyi' en réserve sur fond de nuages stylisés, le tout dans un médaillon polylobé entouré de pêches de longévité, grenades éclatées, citrons digités et melons dans leur feuillage fleuri sur fond de grecques, les bords soulignés d'une frise de grecques et têtes de ruyi se répétant autour de la base, les côtés agrémentés d'emblèmes bouddhistes bajixiang, lotus et chauves-souris alternés sur fond de grecques, l'intérieur et la base laqués noir ; petits manques (2)
Condition
There are several areas of losses along the rim of the cover, among them a ca. 10 cm long area of loss and a second area of loss ca. 4 cm to the rim of the cover. The inside of the cover is lacquered black and shows some star-cracks. There are minor fritts to the carved area of the design on the sides and cover and a ca. 1 cm large area of loss to the ruyi-band around the base. There are three areas of loss to the lacquer between 0.5cm and 2 cm around the sides of the box. The interior of the box shows two star-cracks extending from the rim.
