  • Elephant's tooth (ivory) and carved, wooden plinth
de forme cylindrique, le pourtour entièrement sculpté d'un décor continu de lettrés vêtus de longues robes, autour d'une table chargée d'objets rituels, sous des pins et des prunus en fleurs, socle quadripode en bois sculpté, inscription à deux caractères et cachet de Mitsuaki (2)

Condition

The tusk is in very good overall condition with the exception of a small loss to the handle of the archaistic vessel on the table and some small chips to the edges of the banana leaves ; the width of the tusk is 15 x 13.5 cm ; the carved wood stand is in very good overall condition ; the ivory has a very nice light yellow patina, a fraction darker than the catalogue illustration suggests.
