les bords largement évasés, reposant sur un court pied droit, le pourtour très délicatement peint de branches de prunus fleuries et volutes stylisées, l'intérieur agrémenté de quelques fleurs disséminées, marque apocryphe Chenghua dans un double cercle en bleu sous couverte à la base

Condition

There is a ca. 2.5cm long hairline crack extending from the rim into the side and an associated ca. 1.5cm wide crescent-shaped bruise beneath a hairline on the rim. There is a second, ca. 10cm long hairline crack on the oppsite side of the first one extending from the rim into the side of the bowl.

Catalogue Note

A bowl of the same type and painted with the same design of fallen flowers carried away by the flowing water, formerly in the collection of Paul and Helen Bernat, was sold at Sotheby's Hong Kong, 15th November 1988, lot 21. Compare also a pair of jardinières decorated with a related design of peach blossoms floating amidst rippling waves, from the collection of the British Rail Pension Fund, sold at Sotheby's Hong Kong, 16th May 1989, lot 71.
