Canvas is lined. SURFACE: works is painted on coarse canvas; while there is still texture to more thickly painted areas, canvas weave shows through the thinner areas (sky and lighter areas) UNDER ULTRA VIOLET: scattered dots/dashes in lighter areas (sky and underfoot of horses)
