Condition
This work is in very good condition overall. There are numerous pinholes in various corners and at intervals along the top edge from time of execution. The overall pinkish tone is attributed to the artist's expressionistic application of red pigment on the verso of the work. There are a few very small minor losses to the paper, primarily on the right edge (from the top corner, 4 ¾ in. and also 8 3/8 in.) and the bottom edge (1/2 in. from lower right corner). The red pigment can be glimpsed at these locations. A small repaired diagonal tear is located on the top edge, 2 ¼ in. from the left corner. Some slight residue of adhesive from a previous mounting is evident at the top corners. The work is mounted at intervals to ragboard and framed in a wood strip frame with gilt facing and black wood liner, behind Plexiglas.
