Condition
Illustration is slightly too pink
Original colours are warmer
The overall condition is pretty good
Good restored condition
The veneer is fine despite minor cracks lines particularly to the top and stretcher panel
There is a particularity: the piece (top) is not symetrical but this is a original point
The lock is missing. One gilt bronze border needs to be refixed on stretcher.
Attractive table, good model by one of the greatest ébéniste of Louis XV reign.

Bernard II Van Risen Burgh, ébéniste actif au milieu du XVIIIe siècle.
Ce type de petite table à écrire est typique de l'oeuvre de B.V.R.B datable des années 17450-1760, il a été largement décliné, d'un modèle très sobre comme c'est le cas ici à celui en marqueterie richement souligné de bronze doré pour atteindre le summun du raffinement avec celui à plateau en porcelaine de Sèvres livré par le marchand-mercier Poirier (voir vente Christie's Londres, le 29 novembre 1973, lot 106).
