de forme rectangulaire, le décor en marqueterie à l'italienne de feuilles d'acanthe et rinceaux feuillagés et fleuris dans des encadrements de filets en bois indigènes sur fond de loupe de noyer teinté vert ; l'intérieur du couvercle également marqueté d'un grand losange ; poignées et serrure en fer forgé

Condition
Illustration is quite accurate.
Good overall and unrestored condition.
Veneer has turned dry especially on the top: there are minor lifts and very few cracks and some stains.
Small pieces of veneer are missing on each angle.
The keyplate needs to be fixed. Original steel lock.
The veneer has keep its original green color inside the lid.
Inside, modern red silk.
Beautiful quality of marquetery, typical of Hache manner.
Vary attractive mariage casket.

Thomas Hache, ébéniste actif à Grenoble pendant la première moitié du XVIIIe siècle
Notre coffret est en tout point comparable à un coffret illustré dans P. et F. Rouge, op. cit. , n° 20, p. 113 qui présente aussi le même motif en losange à l'intérieur du couvercle. L'analyse du décor par les auteurs contribue à le dater très tôt dans la production des coffrets de Thomas Hache
