Condition
illustration is quite accurate.
Good restored condition excepted very few lifts to the veneer.
Brass engraving a little worn.
Giltbronze regilt (handles probably replaced).
Top rail redone.

Ce type de décor mélangeant arabesques, personnages, grotesques et rinceaux est directement inspiré des planches de l'ornemaniste Jean Bérain dont les récueils inspirèrent de nombreux ébénistes parisiens à la fin du XVIIe et au début du XVIIIe comme Nicolas Sageot et Noël Gérard (voir P. Grand, "Le mobilier Boulle et les ateliers de l'époque", L'Estampille, février 1993, pp. 48-70).
