Provenance
Condition
Illustration is slightly darker than reality, the oakwood has warm reddish colour.
good overall condition.
Some old restoration in places. Some horizontal and vertical cracks on the panels.
The structure is sound and sturdy but there is some loose especially to the side panels: we would suggest a slight restoration to strenghten them to the carcass.
Beautiful carving allover the side boards and even inside the upper doors in order to let the doors open and to show the dishes inside (shelves have been probably replaced).
The pretty faces on each upper corner could be inspired by Cressent giltbronze.
Original steel lock.
Beautiful piece of furniture of imposing look, very attractive.
And quite rare to find a sideboard of that quality.

Catalogue Note
