Catalogue Note
This work is related to other images in Frederic Roquette's Le Grand Silence Blanc, for which Gagnon did the illustrations.
Roquette's story is set in the Canadian West and Alaska, and although Gagnon had never been to western Canada, he felt his memories of the north shore of the St. Lawrence River provided an excellent source of inspiration.
