Catalogue Note

Lyman spent a great deal of time in Bermuda between 1913 and 1918. This rare canvas has both the spontaneity and intimacy of a sketch. Lyman has used various tonalities in the blue and green colouring to give depth and character to this fine work. The stylized, leafless, tall trees impart a majestic presence in a peaceful setting.
